And the evening and the morning!

IMG_6840Hello friends,

“And the evening and the morning were the first day”(Genesis 1:5). It looks like God does things upside down from the way we do it. We learn here quickly that He created all things between evening and the morning (6pm to 6am). Isn’t it interesting that it doesn’t say” and the morning and the evening was the first day”. I want to continue my encouragement about having an all night meeting with God.  We read of Jesus that before He came walking on the water, he had been praying most of the night(Matthew 14:23-25). In another passage it says that He rose up way before dawn and went away to pray(Mark 1:35). We see God delivering the children of Israel out of Egypt at Midnight (Exodus 12:29-31). Paul and Silas seemed to learn this lesson. In prison, the bible says that they prayed and sang praises to God at Midnight and the result was that not only them but also all the prisoners were delivered. Also in the same night, the jailer and his household got saved and baptized (Acts 16:25-33). That is icing on the cake isn’t it. We see also Herod intending to kill Peter, the leader of the church, but the bible says that the church prayed for Peter without ceasing and during the night while he slept the angel of the Lord came and delivered him(Acts 12:1-18). Would it be possible that maybe you are facing a situation that looks hopeless, may i encourage you to go against the grain, to do what not many are willing to do. It looks like in scripture there are too many examples to list where many decided to do something a little different, and the results are very encouraging. Personally, i would like to say that as in the natural there is little or no traffic at night, in the same way, it seems to me also that much gets accomplished spiritually in the night hours. Father give us the grace to sacrifice our sleep if needed to see a breakthrough for ourselves, marriages, children and the world. In Jesus name i pray and believe. Amen.

The Lord bless you.

All night!

Hello friends,

In scripture, we are exhorted to encourage one another daily seeing the day is approaching. I hope to give you my share of encouragement today. It comes from Luke 6:12 which says: “And it came to pass in those days that He (Jesus) went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God“.  As you continue to read verse 13 and on, it is amazing to see the things that Jesus accomplished after He prayed all night. In the morning the bible says that He chose the 12 apostles (who went on to change the world with the gospel), then after we read that when He came down to the multitude in verse 19 that there was virtue that went out of Him and healed them all. It looks like when we give to God our ALL withholding nothing He will give us something that impacts ALL. And then to top it up, He gave the sermon to his disciples that  we call the beatitudes  which is believed to be one of the most widely quoted piece of scripture. May I encourage you today to give more time to God, how about set aside a Friday Night from 11pm to 5am and get out the best of your worship music, your bible, a notebook where you write down all the prayers you would like to talk to God about( yourself, your spouse(if married), children by name, your friends, brothers and sisters, your fears and anxieties) The night is a good time because there is little or no distractions and you have enough time to listen to what God has for you or your family if you have one. Now you say, wait a minute i will fall asleep. You are authorized to drink coffee, have a snack, take a break and stretch. I am looking forward to hear the testimonies that come out of your own all night time with God.

The Lord bless you.

Baby sleeps!

Last week, I receive an e-mail from a woman I had never met. The e-mail was sent to the church we work with here (addressed to me) then forwarded to us. The lady had heard about us. She was asking for help. She has a new born (3 months) who has been sleeping for only 20-30 mins. at a time. She was asking if I can have time with her. She needed help. I was asking the Lord, ‘what do I have to offer her,’ but He said that He is the one who had gotten her to contact me and that he would help if I just gave my time. Well, we had them over for brunch, prayed over the child and shared some practical examples and oh, the baby slept for 2 hours until the mother had to wake her up to nurse her as the milk was hurting her! If you are a mother, you can appreciate that God cares about our children’s sleep!

Grace

I can’t help but share the Word that Pitana shared on Sunday’s prayer meeting. It has been ministering to me. He shared about Grace. Now, I know we have all heard about grace, but there was more light shade for me this Sunday.
Grace is God’s power to help me do what is right. It’s by grace we are saved! Throughout the epistles, we constantly read ‘grace … be multiplied unto thee.’ The Word says, ‘let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.’ I need grace to pray; to read the Word; to do any good thing the Lord requires of me. He mentioned that daily we should ask God for grace to live as He wants us to.
‘Grace,’ Pitana said is translated as ‘that which causes me to leap for joy.’ The Word says that ‘the joy of the Lord is my strength’ thus it can be said that the grace of God is my strength.’ Hmm!
He went on to read from Revelation 22:21 ‘the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.’ Pitana mentioned that God never does anything by mistake. He chose the last words in His Word to be about His grace because He knows without His grace, we are incapable of living a Christlike life.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you and your families in Jesus’ name. Amen.

P.S. Pitana also briefly shared on 2 chronicles 7:14 ‘If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways.’ Pitana stated that proud people don’t pray. He said that ‘when I pray, I am telling God ‘that though you have blessed me, thought I am health; thought I have a good family or finance, I still need you.’ I STILL NEED YOU!

Encouragement

We trust that you are all well.
Just wanted to encourage you all with more of what God is doing.
This past Tuesday, we were heading to our van after the Tuesday prayer meeting at church, when the Holy Spirit instructed me to go and join a women’s prayer meeting that was going on in another room at the church. After confirming with Pitana, I excused myself from my family and went to join the ladies asking them if I ‘can join you for an hour?’
So I joined them not really knowing what God had in mind but just obeying. As soon as I sat down, the conversation changed and they turned to me asking me a question.
The previous Tuesday the group had joined the general prayer meeting we have in the auditorium. Pitana had shared the Word on the Holy Spirit. We then asked if anyone wanted to receive the Holy Spirit. No one stepped forward. We closed the prayer meeting and the ladies returned to their meeting in another room. A few of them repented for not obeying the leading of God as they knew they needed to receive the Holy Spirit but hesitated.
So when I joined their group I was asked to explain more about the Holy Spirit. One woman said, ‘when I hear you talk about the Holy Spirit, I know I want Him, can you tell me more?’ So I expounded on what Pitana had shared the previous Tuesday and shared my testimony as well. One of the women was in tears. In brief, 5 women stepped up for prayer to receive the Holy Spirit. God was gracious to grant me word of knowledge for a couple of the ladies (things I would not have known since I didn’t know the ladies). Tears were shed as we all enjoyed God’s presence in that room. The hour was up and I asked the ladies to pray for me too and they blessed me.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11:13
Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. Acts 8:14-17
And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”
So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”
And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?”
So they said, “Into John’s baptism.”
Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. Now the men were about twelve in all. Acts 19:1-7
If you yourself have not yet receive the Holy Spirit, you can. Remember ‘the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.’ Romans 14:17
We love you.
In Christ,
Pitana and Nadia
